As we prepare to issue quarter 3 report cards April 27 - May 1, Shelby County Schools is giving all students in grades 1-12 an opportunity to improve their quarter 3 grades.

Quarter 3 Report Cards:

  • Quarter 3 report cards will be available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal, emailed by request and available for pickup April 27 - May 1.

  • If you have trouble accessing your PowerSchool account, parents can contact our Parent Welcome Center for help at (901) 416-5300. If PowerSchool cannot be accessed, parents can contact the Student Information team at (901) 416.9991.

Quarter 3 Grade Improvement Facts:

  • Grade improvement is only for quarter 3 grades, which are the most recent grades completed at the time school closures occurred.

  • All students in grades 1-12 will have the opportunity to complete an optional assignment to earn three (3) to five (5) numeric points toward their final quarter 3 grade.

  • The assignment is optional, but students who are within five (5) numeric points of a higher letter grade - especially those who are within five (5) numeric points of passing - are highly encouraged to participate in this grade improvement opportunity.

  • Grade improvement is only available in ELA, Math and Science for grades 1-8. It is available in all subjects for high school.

  • SPED, ESL & 504: Co-teachers will assist with grading and ensure proper modifications are implemented for all students who receive accommodations.

  • Principals and teachers will be contacting families with assignment information April 28 - May 1. Parents who do not hear from their principal or teacher by May 1 should contact their child's teacher or the school directly.

  • Assignments must be submitted May 4-11. Assignments will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on May 11.

  • Updated quarter 3 report cards will be posted online in PowerSchool, emailed by request and available for pickup May 18-22.

NEW RESOURCE

Treadwell has a NEW online resource for you with videos, lessons, and games called Discovery Education. You can access it on your cell phone. Check it out on Clever!


CLASS MEETING

EVERY Tuesday at 2:00 pm, I will host a video conference for our ESL class on Microsoft Teams. You can video chat with me, ask me questions, or just say hi.

Just follow these steps:

1) Go to edugoodies.com

2) Click on "SCS Email Login"

3) Sign in using your school email: your power school number@student.scsk12.org

EXAMPLE: 467532@student.scsk12.org

4) Use your Clever password (date of birth)

EXAMPLE: 05252008

5) Click "Next"

6) Click "Cancel"

7) Click "Yes" 8) Once you are in your e-mail inbox, click the button in the TOP LEFT CORNER (to the left of the word "Outlook") that looks like a grid.

9) Click the purple button that says "Teams"

10) Click "Next" and "Cancel" again

11) On the left panel, click "Teams"

12) Find "Join a Team with a Code" and enter this code: xsowakc 

On Tuesday at 2 pm, click on the "Class Meet-Up!" button to join.

Information about meals for students

Food: Monday - Friday, 11am-1pm

Bring: Students under age 18 (MUST be present!) + official document with home address (light/water bill, driver's license, etc.)

How to Get Help with Homework Packets if you don't understand:

1) Call the Homework Help Center to get tutoring in English, Spanish, Arabic, or other languages

Monday-Friday, 2pm–6pm, at 615-298-6636 or 901-416-1234. Online chat is open 3pm–5pm.
